New Deputy Director at Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum
Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum has appointed Veronica Aasgrav Evertsen as Deputy Director. She will start the new position on 1 September 2023.

Veronica Aasgrav Evertsen comes from the position as Centre Manager at Nerstranda AS in Tromsø. She has 30 years of experience from the private sector in strategic, organisational, financial and operational management, and an academic background in leadership, culture and society. Through her work at Nerstranda, part of Aurora Eiendom AS, where she developed a special focus on operational efficiency and competence development as well as visitor satisfaction, she ensured the financial foundation and organisational balance of the company in times of expansion, transformation and crisis.
Evertsen was born in the north and has lived in Tromsø for most of her life, with parts of her childhood in Guovdegaeidnu. With this background, Evertsen brings a strong northern network to the museum.
Evertsen's long management experience and solid expertise is important to Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum. This position is the first of a number of new appointments, and is particularly relevant for the museum in connection with the strategic plan for 2024-28. Evertsen will play a crucial role in the work to finalise and implement the strategy, which will, among other things, strengthen the institution's efforts in the north through new arenas in Longyearbyen, Bodø and a new museum building in Tromsø.
As deputy director, Evertsen will work closely with the director to promote museum practices that include a focus on social equity and health, an Indigenous perspective and climate considerations, as well as having a positive impact on staff and the public.
