Small in Japan
While the rest of the staff is working hard to get ready for the opening of The Collection, director Jérémie McGowan is in Japan, enjoying himself. We've had the pleasure of being invited to contribute to The Arctic Philharmonic's tour of Japan. They brought a number of Northern Norwegian cultural institutions and businesses with them on their tour of several Japanese cities. Besides the Arctic University, Tromsø county, The Polar Institute, The Norwegian Seafood Council and several others, we are there with the small exhibition Images of the North; ten works from Northern Norway.
Jérémie reports of high interest and fascination from Japanese art lovers. Especially Munch's Self Portrait and Inger Johanne Grytting's Untitled #5 are popular. This is our first collaboration with NOSO, and we want to thank them for creating such a unique and common Northern Norwegian project, benefitting us all.
