About the Exhibition

This exhibition is part of a three-day Professional Seminar: Space for Creativity, designed to foster inspiration and knowledge-sharing among glass artists through hands-on demonstrations, workshops, and discussions. The seminar takes place at Blåst, Tromsø.

This unique showcase features works from 24 glass artists, including renowned American glass artist Rob Stern, famous Australian glass artist Philip Stokes, and Tromsø artist Geir Nustad.

Rob Stern has been working with glass since the early 1980s and has an extensive portfolio of projects, exhibitions, and courses. His aesthetic resides at the crossroads of human and natural elements, as he strives to capture moments through materials that reflect the delicate balance between the two. You can check out his work here: Rob Stern's Website.

Philip Stokes is a renowned glass artist originally from Australia. He has been a dedicated advocate for the art of glass for 40 years. Stokes has twice been a finalist in the esteemed Ranamok Glass Prize, and his work is part of the Australian Art Glass collection in Wagga Wagga, NSW. He currently lives in New Zealand and will be traveling from there to take part in this seminar and exhibition. Learn more about Philip Stokes here: Philip Stokes' Website.

Geir Nustad was born in Tromsø, Norway, in 1984. He is a freelance glass artist whose work has been featured in several international art collections and museums. In 2023, he exhibited at Samidaiddagouvdas in Karasjok, drawing inspiration from the north, Sámi culture, and northern Norwegian nature. Nustad currently lives and works in Leerdam, the glass city of the Netherlands. Read more about Geir Nustad here: Geir Nustad's Website.
